Supply Chain Planning Analytics Manager

About the role

Massmart is seeking a Manager to lead Central Supply Chain Planning Analytics. In this role you will design, implement and maintain analytical solutions that optimise the flow of stock across the central distribution network, ensuring the lowest possible cost while maintaining service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions for centralized distribution and inventory optimisation.
• Maintain and continuously improve models that balance throughput and stock flow across the supply chain network.
• Monitor performance metrics to ensure optimal cost efficiency and service quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align planning analytics with business objectives.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 plus a relevant tertiary qualification or certification.
• 5–8 years of experience in retail, demand planning or logistics environments.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP, ERP, BI, F&R, EWMS, JDA or similar inventory planning tools.
• Commercial orientation, self‑starter attitude and results‑driven mindset.

Required skills

• Strong commercial and finance understanding.
• Ability to build complex analytical models at various aggregation levels.
• Excellent analytical, planning and organisational capabilities.
• Effective communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Technical expertise in modelling and forecasting stock.
• Attention to detail and deep knowledge of stock, ranging, warehousing and distribution processes.
• Coaching and mentoring abilities.
