Supervisor – Multipurpose Ripening Rooms

About the role
The Supervisor will oversee staff and manage the ripening of bananas and other fruit in the multipurpose ripening rooms. The role ensures product quality, health and safety compliance, and efficient operation of the cold‑store environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise staff and provide relief for the Manager of Cold Store and Multipurpose Rooms.
- Control the ripening process for bananas and various other fruit.
- Attend to faults, breakdowns and security of the ripening rooms.
- Operate temperature monitoring systems and conduct quality inspections.
- Receive, check and issue produce, and undertake stock audits.
- Promote the market and handle queries while ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent with a Warehouse Management certificate.
- Valid forklift or reach‑truck certificate.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Computer literacy.
