Strategic Projects & Business Optimisation Lead

About the role

We are looking for an energetic, self‑motivated senior professional to lead strategic projects and business optimisation for Capitec Connect. The role combines strategy development, change delivery and hands‑on execution across business and technology domains within the banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage one or more initiatives across business and technology, owning the full project lifecycle from discovery to deployment.
• Drive delivery against agreed plans, scope, success criteria and strategic business benefits while coordinating IT, operations, vendors and cross‑functional teams.
• Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues, scope changes and dependencies, applying governance to track RAID items and outcomes.
• Communicate complex programmes to C‑suite, support RFP processes and hold suppliers to SLAs.
• Inspire and lead distributed teams, building buy‑in for transformation and sustaining momentum over multi‑year cycles.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of proven experience delivering initiatives in telecom, financial services or retail environments.
• Familiarity with telecom technologies such as NFV, SDN, OSS/BSS and spectrum management.
• Knowledge of banking regulatory environment, data protection and cybersecurity mandates.
• Experience with SDLC methodologies, Agile, Scrum and incorporating AI.
• Degree in Commerce or Business Management plus PMP/MSP or similar project‑management certification and Agile certification.
