Store Manager – Clothing Retail (Somerset West, Cape Town)

About the role

Our clothing retail client is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a busy outlet in Somerset West, Cape Town. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing daily operations, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve the store's sales plan and consistently exceed targets.
• Oversee all administrative duties, including audit preparation, expense control, and cash‑up procedures.
• Conduct daily sales meetings, weekly reviews, and regular staff training on product knowledge, customer service, and merchandising.
• Manage staff scheduling, performance appraisals, succession planning, and recruitment in collaboration with the Area Manager.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, resolve issues promptly, and promote sales through effective coaching.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle petty cash, and ensure accurate banking and cash deposit processes.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Store Manager in a retail environment.
• Proven track record of driving store sales and over‑achieving targets.

• Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
