Stock Accountant

About the role

The Stock Accountant reports to the Group Cost and Management Accountant and supports a fats and oils manufacturing business. The role focuses on detailed cost tracking, inventory control, and financial reporting to drive cost efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Enable detailed cost tracking, including Bill of Materials, daily GOCM reports, and raw material and packaging cost calculations.
• Manage stock control activities such as daily reconciliation, inter‑company invoicing, GRV processing, and inventory adjustments using Sage.
• Attend and coordinate monthly stock counts, produce variance reports and corrective journal entries.
• Prepare monthly stock valuation, plant P&L, gross profit analysis and ad‑hoc stock reports.
• Present monthly P&L results, track cost savings, lead improvement projects and support the annual budget preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Pastel Evolution ERP.
• Experience using Sage for inventory and production processing.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) maintenance and standard costing.
• Ability to perform detailed cost analysis and inventory control.
