Steward – Kitchen Support

About the role

The hotel is seeking a reliable Steward to keep the kitchen area spotless and fully equipped for daily food preparation and service. You will play a vital part in maintaining hygiene standards, supporting the culinary team, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, work surfaces and storage areas.
• Ensure a constant supply of clean dishes, glassware and utensils for service.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and manage waste‑handling systems.
• Store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in line with regulations.
• Organise and tidy storage spaces to support kitchen staff.
• Adhere to all hygiene, health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Matric qualification (advantageous).
• Willingness to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience in kitchen cleaning or scullery (advantageous).
• Clean criminal record.
