Staff Accountant - Remote Bookkeeping

About the role

The Law Offices of Sabrina Li, P.C., a full-service U.S. immigration law firm, is looking for a detail-oriented, systems-driven finance professional to own its day-to-day bookkeeping, financial categorization, internal financial processes and cash flow management. This is a fully remote, Asia-based role as an independent contractor, with a 3-month probationary period.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping and ensure transactions are correctly categorized in QuickBooks
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms regularly, and resolve discrepancies
• Track cash flow, support cash flow forecasts and liquidity insights, and flag risks early
• Review, document and optimize internal financial workflows, including expense tracking, billing and internal controls
• Prepare structured financial reports and support budgeting and forecasting
• Work with external CPAs on tax filings, audits and reviews, and ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a U.S. company
• Experience with detailed categorization and financial cleanup
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment

Required skills

• Strong expertise in QuickBooks
