Salaried Financial Advisor

About the role

Old Mutual is hiring a salaried financial advisor in Empangeni. The advisor gives advice on a defined range of products to a specific allocated market and is individually accountable for achieving results. The role requires formal in-house training, completion of the prescribed regulatory exams and accreditation with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, and continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Customer service: provide quality service, process cases, handle complex queries and resolve customer problems.
• Solutions analysis: analyse problems and issues to find the best technical or professional solutions.
• Receive visitors and refer complex matters to colleagues.
• CRM data: schedule follow-ups and record details after each contact to build a call plan.
• Clarify customer needs and develop prospecting plans for potential accounts.
• Business development: monitor sales and market data for a region, attend business-sector events and build a personal network.
• Data exploration: research and analyse trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
• Compliance: understand policies, procedures and regulatory codes, and obtain supervisor approval for exceptions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• FAIS compliance.
• Re5 is an advantage.
• A valid driver's licence and your own car.
• A clear criminal and credit check.
• At least 3 years of working experience, preferably in sales.
• NQF Level 5 qualification or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proven computer literacy (MS Office suite).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Consultative selling, prospecting and sales data management.
