Specialised ICU Professional Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a specialised ICU professional nurse to deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care at Mediclinic Milnerton. The role involves working within a multi‑professional team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Support staff competence by creating a learning environment.
• Ensure accurate charging of all utilised stock and equipment.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Additional qualifications such as Midwifery or a postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty (desired).
• Essential experience: none required; desired experience: 1 year of post‑graduate qualification experience in a specialised unit.

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Nursing record keeping and patient assessment skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS).
• Risk identification and management.
