Spanish-Speaking Cook – International Cruise Ship Galley

About the role

A Spanish-speaking cook is needed on an international cruise ship galley, working within a Spanish-speaking team. The position involves high-volume service for guests and crew, with contracts lasting several months at sea.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in the galley, supporting cooks and commis with food preparation, basic cooking and section set-up, following recipes and portion standards.
• Keep workstations, equipment and storage areas clean and organised according to strict public health and food safety standards (USPH/HACCP).
• Assist with receiving, storing and rotating stock.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken Spanish; good spoken and written English.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional hotel, resort or cruise ship kitchen.
• Grade 12 or equivalent completed secondary education.
• Valid passport.

Required skills

• Basic knife skills and food preparation methods.
• Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Preferred: international kitchen experience, culinary qualification, high-volume or banquet/buffet experience, and cruise ship experience.
