Sourcing Specialist – Procurement

About the role

The Sourcing Specialist will lead the end‑to‑end procurement process, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, risk mitigation, and compliance with public sector regulations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and technology teams to drive value across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, from demand forecasting to contract award.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through market research, benchmarking and negotiations.
• Leverage e‑procurement tools to automate and integrate sourcing activities.
• Ensure adherence to the Preferential Procurement Policy, PFMA, PPPFA and other supply‑chain regulations.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct value‑for‑money reviews and report on spend analytics.
• Run tenders, evaluate bids on commercial and technical criteria, and make recommendations.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams.
• Provide market analysis presentations and keep abreast of industry trends and innovations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or supply‑chain management, preferably in a decentralized, multi‑structured public‑sector environment.
• Proven track record of developing and achieving cost‑saving targets.
• Experience handling complex projects, multiple bids and stakeholder coordination.
• Strong analytical ability to produce spend reports and forecast demand.
• Excellent negotiation and contract‑management skills.
