Solution Architect – ECommerce

About the role

Owethu Managed Services is looking for an innovative and technically strong Solution Architect – ECommerce to join its IT Architecture team. You will analyse business requirements and available technologies to design, recommend and support scalable, cohesive, and pragmatic technical solutions for the organisation’s e‑commerce and retail landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business strategies, priorities, processes and requirements to determine appropriate technology solutions.
• Design enterprise‑scale applications, services and technical solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and cohesive technical designs, managing integration points between multiple applications and systems.
• Define and manage non‑functional requirements such as performance, availability, security, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in technology selection, contribute to roadmaps, evaluate emerging trends and recommend optimisation opportunities.
• Provide architectural direction throughout the software development life‑cycle and ensure compliance with governance, risk and legislative requirements.
• Support API and enterprise integration architecture, working closely with development teams to ensure proper implementation.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in software development and proven experience in solution architecture.
• Exposure to customer‑facing technology domains and ability to work across complex enterprise environments.
• Experience collaborating with enterprise architects, domain architects, developers, project teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to break complex technical problems into manageable components.
