Software Quality Engineer I

About the role

Use the automation test kit (frameworks and pre‑defined test tools) to design, develop, implement and execute reusable automated test assets that assure the overall quality of solutions and their architecture, while aligning with enterprise quality practices and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build and foster deep relationships with peers, developers, product owners and other stakeholders, aligning to Nedbank values.
• Develop, implement and execute reusable automated test assets using the automation test kit to ensure solution quality.
• Collaborate with the core technical team to continuously improve automation frameworks and integrate test execution into DevOps pipelines.
• Log defects, report testing status daily, and participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives.

Required profile

• BSc IT or BComm IT (or similar) with 3‑6 years of test analysis, design and automation experience.
• Experience in Agile delivery, Test‑Driven Development, Behaviour‑Driven Development and continuous delivery models.
• Understanding of logical solution architecture, DevOps pipelines and tools.
• Strong communication, decision‑making and innovation competencies.
