Software Engineer – Remote placement with Dutch tech firm

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Software Engineer based in Cape Town who will be placed with a leading technology company in the Netherlands. You will work remotely as part of a distributed European team, designing, developing and maintaining scalable software solutions for the European market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain back‑end services that meet performance and reliability standards.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across continents and participate in cross‑border code reviews.
• Resolve complex technical issues and drive back‑end development initiatives.
• Apply industry‑leading software development methodologies and agile practices.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and software development principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to thrive in a distributed, international team environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong communication abilities.
• Prior experience in the tech industry or with international teams is a plus.
