Software Engineer, Frontend

About the role

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join the Orchestration team at Primer. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of payment‑related UI, from initial scoping through production, helping merchants build and customise checkout experiences on our global payments platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead frontend projects across Acceptance’s payment surfaces, checkout components and merchant‑facing tooling.
• Make architectural decisions, produce RFCs and ADRs, and ensure code quality with minimal senior oversight.
• Build composable, performant, and accessible UI that can be configured and extended by merchants.
• Monitor production impact using metrics and dashboards, proactively detect issues and drive fixes.
• Participate in incident response, taking ownership and communicating with stakeholders.
• Share knowledge and mentor peers to raise overall engineering quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade frontend features independently.
• Strong ability to scope, plan architecture and execute projects without constant direction.
• Deep understanding of building accessible, performant, maintainable UI at scale.
• Clear communication skills, especially in async‑first environments.
• Business‑oriented mindset, understanding user and merchant context.
