Software Engineer (CRIMS Platform)

About the role

Ninety One is looking for a Software Engineer to join the CRIMS technology team. You will help automate and streamline trading‑lifecycle workflows by building and maintaining integrations around the Charles River Investment Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain extensions and APIs for the Charles River platform (CRIMS).
• Support Azure‑hosted services such as Function Apps and App Services.
• Collaborate with the CRIMS technology team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and support Databricks/Azure‑based data pipelines.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure reliability.
• Review code via pull requests and participate in agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, including data‑quality defects and integration failures.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C# .NET and object‑oriented design.
• Production experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
• Understanding of API‑based integration patterns (REST, GraphQL or similar).
• Experience in the finance industry; exposure to order‑management systems such as Charles River IMS is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Python, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.
