About the role
Our client, a respected private higher education institution in Cape Town, is seeking a dynamic Software Development Lecturer. The role blends technical expertise with the South African skills development framework to prepare learners for real‑world IT careers.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging software and systems development programmes, making technical content clear and practical.
- Support learners throughout their academic and workplace learning journey.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments, evaluate Portfolios of Evidence, and prepare documentation for moderation and accreditation.
- Contribute to curriculum improvement, develop online learning content, and deliver courses via Moodle.
- Maintain industry engagement to ensure learning remains relevant to current workplace demands.
Required profile
- Recognised qualification in Software Development, Systems Development, IT or related field (preferably NQF Level 6+).
- Registered Assessor and Moderator (MICT SETA registration preferred) for programming‑related qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years facilitation experience in learnerships or similar programmes.
- At least 2 years experience as an assessor.
- Practical software development or IT industry experience with exposure to relevant programming languages and tools.
- Knowledge of QCTO, SETA, workplace‑based learning, assessment planning, moderation and learner portfolio management.
