Social Media & Multimedia Content Specialist

About the role

Ananse is building Africa’s first integrated fashion hub and needs a dynamic professional to lead its social media and multimedia content efforts in Johannesburg. You will shape the brand’s online presence, create compelling visual assets, and drive engagement across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute social media strategies on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
• Define and maintain a consistent brand voice and editorial style.
• Create and curate high‑quality images, videos, reels, stories and articles that showcase products, trends and lifestyle.
• Manage social media calendars, scheduling and publishing.
• Analyse engagement, reach and conversion metrics and optimise campaigns.
• Research fashion trends and industry news to inform content themes.
• Collaborate with customer care, merchandising, marketing and PR teams for cohesive messaging.
• Produce photography, videography and video‑editing assets for product listings and campaigns.
• Design graphics, illustrations and animations for social and marketing materials.
• Coordinate influencer, blogger and brand partner collaborations, including product seeding and content creation.
• Engage with customers, merchants, journalists and industry professionals on social channels.
• Monitor social media tools and best practices to keep the brand at the forefront of digital innovation.

Required profile

• Proven ability to develop and implement social media strategies that increase brand awareness and sales.
• Strong visual storytelling skills with experience producing photography, videography and graphic assets.
• Comfortable analysing data and adjusting tactics based on performance insights.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
