Social Media Manager

About the role

The client, a retail business based in Cape Town, is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across its commercial and CFE divisions. The role focuses on creating on‑brand content, managing a small team, and delivering data‑driven insights to boost brand engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a full‑funnel social media strategy for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
• Align social initiatives with corporate marketing, commercial, and digital objectives.
• Produce and schedule platform‑specific content in collaboration with ATL, PR, and buying teams.
• Manage social‑only campaigns, ensuring timely delivery and brand consistency.
• Oversee financial, talent, and resource planning for the social media function.
• Analyse performance using Brandwatch and Salesforce, generating reports and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor industry trends, tools, and benchmarks, presenting quarterly strategic updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in social media strategy.
• At least 2 years in a managerial marketing role with team leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record of successful multi‑platform campaigns.
• Experience working across multiple business units and functions.
