Social Media Manager Intern

About the role

VML South Africa is looking for a motivated Social Media Manager Intern to join its dynamic Social Media team. You will gain hands‑on experience in planning, executing and analysing social media activities for a portfolio of leading brands, while working in a fast‑paced creative agency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and managing content calendars across multiple social media platforms.
• Schedule and publish posts on channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Monitor conversations, respond to comments, and engage with online communities.
• Support the planning and execution of digital campaigns.
• Track performance metrics and help prepare reports and insights.
• Research emerging trends, platform updates, and audience behaviours.
• Collaborate with content creators, designers, copywriters, strategists and client‑service teams.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Brand Communication or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current digital trends.
• Creative thinking with an eye for detail.
