Skilled Millwright – Maintenance & Cleanout Specialist

About the role

Epol is seeking a skilled Millwright to maintain and optimise equipment after clean‑out operations in a poultry processing environment. The role blends mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and project work to ensure production runs efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain equipment after clean‑out to guarantee optimal performance during production.
• Conduct safety inspections and implement upgrades for cost‑effective performance.
• Execute planned maintenance, analyse spares requirements and remove old equipment for refurbishment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical assets.
• Assist the breakdown team with urgent repairs and document equipment trends.
• Record spare‑part costs, complete store requisitions and manage weekly spares usage.
• Supervise and allocate tasks to Artisan Assistants, ensuring quality workmanship.

Required profile

• Minimum NTC 2 trade qualification with Code 08 licence.
• At least 5 years post‑trade experience in a production line or FMCG maintenance setting.
• Ability to work shifts, standby, call‑outs and overtime in cold conditions.
• Physically fit, fluent in English and capable of working independently under pressure.

Required skills

• PLC programming and VSD drive troubleshooting.
• High‑voltage switching expertise.
• Proficiency with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
• Electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Equipment refurbishment and spares management.
