Site Manager - Installation Engineer

About the role

We are an air‑systems engineering company specialising in large turnkey ventilation projects across sectors such as mining, power generation, industrial processing and agriculture. The role leads one of two site installation teams, overseeing the on‑site execution of ventilation installations from design hand‑over to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily site operations for ventilation installation projects.
• Lead and coordinate a dedicated site installation team.
• Ensure project milestones, quality standards and safety protocols are met.
• Liaise with mechanical engineers, project managers, production manager and draftsmen.
• Visit sites with engineers and draftsmen to understand project requirements before installation.
• Plan project timelines, hire equipment (crane, cherry picker, scaffolding, etc.) and arrange safety files.
• Monitor and report on project progress, resolve on‑site issues and maintain communication with stakeholders and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Minimum matric certificate; tertiary qualification is an advantage.
• Proven site‑management experience on mechanical or HVAC projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Mandatory ducting experience; prior sheet‑metal or HVAC experience is non‑negotiable.
