Site Manager – Building Projects

About the role

RPO Recruitment’s client, a medium‑sized building contractor, is looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead construction activities in Cape Town. The role involves overseeing commercial, residential or industrial building projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise all on‑site construction activities.
• Manage subcontractors, labour forces and site resources efficiently.
• Monitor progress against schedule, quality standards and budget.
• Enforce health, safety and OHS legislation on the site.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Building, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager on commercial, residential or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and quality standards.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site personnel effectively.
• Good understanding of OHS legislation and site safety requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable transport and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
