Site Agent – Construction Projects

About the role

The Site Agent is a core member of the project team delivering building development projects of varying size and complexity. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role combines administrative support, on‑site coordination and project close‑out activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with quotations, order raising and invoice processing for capital works.
• Gather tender information, measure and quantify works, and draft Bills of Quantities.
• Support pre‑tender preparation and evaluate tender submissions.
• Identify and manage project risks and assist with site handover activities.
• Organise meetings, record minutes and conduct site inspections.
• Supervise administrative and technical tasks, set out on‑site works and monitor contractor schedules against event timelines.
• Capture site data, prepare progress and snagging reports, and aid project close‑out.
• Maintain building utilisation records, track damages, coordinate repairs and report to management.
• Support health, safety and security matters for capital works and events.

Required profile

• Higher Certificate in Construction or Built Environment (NQF Level 5); NQF Level 6 in Project Management or related field is advantageous.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar construction role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Basic knowledge of quantity surveying is a plus.
• Strong English communication (written and spoken) and basic analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
