Silo Lead – Milling Division

About the role

The Silo Lead will manage grain receipt, storage, and processing for RCL Foods' Milling Division in Pretoria West. Reporting to the Milling Manager, you will ensure efficient silo operations, maintain product quality, and uphold safety and food‑security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate timely receipt of grain and maintain FIFO stock rotation.
• Oversee blending, conditioning, and grading of grain to meet set points.
• Manage silo machinery, routine checks, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor cleaning machines, pneumatic and aspiration systems, and ensure filter changes.
• Liaise daily with suppliers, Transnet, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
• Verify time‑and‑attendance records, control overtime, and keep expenses within budget.
• Maintain food‑safety documentation, conduct monthly audits, and enforce FSMS standards.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, OFS, and railway safety procedures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• NQF Level 5 qualification in Agriculture – Grain Handling Management.
• Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG, preferably in agriculture, grain management or a production environment.
• Proven experience with fumigation, operations/production management, OFS and OHS systems, and railway safety management.
