About the role
Montagu Trading Co is looking for a reliable, energetic Shop Assistant to join its team at Montagu Snacks on Canal Walk in Cape Town. The person should strive for customer service excellence, be sales-driven and help maintain the high standards of the store.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain store standards and follow company procedures
- Assist customers by locating and recommending products
- Be proactive in up-selling to increase sales
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Share product knowledge, including health benefits
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Update store displays and carry out stock takes, cleaning and general store maintenance
- Work towards monthly targets
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year of retail or sales assistant experience
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Reliable, punctual and customer-focused
