About the role
The Ships Provider is responsible for generating OBLs for all load plans and coordinating with cargo coordinators, planners and terminal staff to ensure accurate shipping documentation and container tracking.
Key responsibilities
- Generate OBLs for all load plans.
- Liaise with Durban cargo coordinators, the T/S department and central planners.
- Check vessel capacity and available loadable tonnage/space.
- Compile reefer manifests.
- Cross‑match all bookings versus stack, especially exports.
- Track containers (N76), compile and distribute national T/S lists.
- Follow up on missing containers and maintain the Missing Container list.
- Assist with LAR protocol for late arrivals.
- Amend orders and protocols according to terminal instructions.
- Extract dangerous goods (DG) manifests and produce the final OBL.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in shipping or logistics.
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification; tertiary qualification is advantageous.
