Shift Supervisor – Airport Vehicle Rental

About the role

Join a fast‑paced airport environment as a Shift Supervisor, leading a dynamic operational team at one of South Africa’s busiest airports. You will ensure smooth day‑to‑day branch operations, deliver exceptional customer service, maintain vehicle readiness, and drive team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and operational efficiency.
• Manage the full vehicle rental process, including bookings, vehicle checks, handovers, returns, exchanges and damage administration.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer queries and complaints effectively.
• Supervise, coach and support team members to achieve performance and service standards.
• Ensure vehicles, facilities and branch housekeeping meet required standards.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, operational procedures, safety requirements and POPIA regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor competitor activity and provide relevant market feedback to management.
• Promote a professional, customer‑focused culture while protecting company and customer interests.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Proven car rental operations experience.
• Valid, unendorsed Code 08/EB or C1 driver’s licence.
• Minimum 1 year of continuous driving experience.
• Recent experience (within the last 12 months) supervising a team of at least five direct reports.
• Experience driving service excellence and policy compliance.
• Background in sales, service, and customer‑focused environment.
• Understanding of fleet movement systems and operational procedures.
• Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts outside normal business hours.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Residence within the immediate surrounding areas of La Mercy.
