Service Advisor – Fleet Management (Ref 73000040)

About the role

The Service Advisor will support the Fleet Management and Administration Directorate by overseeing vehicle, plant, equipment and material servicing. The role involves coordinating workshop activities, monitoring subcontracted work and ensuring compliance with quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assess procedures, systems and controls related to servicing of vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Conduct inspections of workshop tools, machinery and compile annual repair and maintenance programmes and cost schedules.
• Participate in operational meetings, presenting factual information on progress, constraints, quality and cost.
• Communicate with workshops to secure materials and resources for specific work orders.
• Monitor status of vehicles, machinery and equipment, reporting deviations to managers.
• Oversee subcontracted work, including panel shop and hydraulic workshop activities.
• Plan resources for servicing, repairs and maintenance of the fleet.
• Prepare internal transactional documentation such as progress and productivity reports.

Required profile

• Trade‑tested Artisan in Diesel, Petrol, Construction Plant Mechanic or Auto Electrician.
• Valid motor vehicle driving licence (Code EC) and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• At least 4 years of relevant post‑trade experience.
• Computer literacy and strong automotive fault‑diagnostic abilities.
