Senior WordPress Developer

About the role

Huzzle connects B2B sales professionals with global companies, and is recruiting a Senior WordPress Developer for a fully remote position. You will build, customize, optimize and maintain high-quality WordPress websites, owning projects end-to-end. The role suits someone with 4-5+ years of professional WordPress experience who is comfortable troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Build and customize WordPress themes, layouts, templates and styles using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
• Develop custom WordPress plugins and extensions
• Create responsive, mobile-first interfaces that work well on desktop, tablet and mobile
• Work with PHP, WordPress core, databases, APIs and server-side logic
• Improve Core Web Vitals, page-loading speed, caching, database performance and overall efficiency
• Implement technical and on-page SEO best practices
• Run security checks and audits, manage core/theme/plugin updates, fix bugs and keep regular backups
• Test sites across browsers and devices before deployment and maintain existing sites

Required profile

• 4-5+ years of professional WordPress development experience
• Proven experience building and customizing themes from scratch and developing or modifying custom plugins
• Strong understanding of MySQL and back-end development
• Experience with responsive, mobile-first development and performance optimization, caching and Core Web Vitals
• Knowledge of technical SEO and WordPress security, updates and maintenance
• Familiarity with APIs and third-party integrations
• Ability to work independently and solve complex issues remotely
