Senior Training Officer

About the role

The Senior Training Officer will deliver training lessons to council employees across all levels, ensuring learning needs are met and training materials are up‑to‑date. This role reports to the Principal Training Officer and supports the Learning and Development division.

Key responsibilities

• Implement training needs as supplied by the Directorates.
• Design and produce training manuals, notes and customised course material.
• Conduct classroom‑based training and adapt existing material where necessary.
• Research, develop and update learning material.
• Evaluate training outcomes and conduct learner assessments.
• Maintain safe working conditions in the training centre.
• Provide post‑course follow‑up and support.

Required profile

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Education, Training, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• National Certificate in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (NQF Level 5) or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle driving licence.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a Learning and Development environment.
• Computer literacy.
