Senior Structural Engineer – Lead Design & Delivery

About the role

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the planning, design and delivery of structural engineering projects from feasibility through construction. The role manages multidisciplinary teams, coordinates with clients and stakeholders, and supports business development and project procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, reports and specifications to relevant standards.
• Manage procurement activities, including tender documentation and bid evaluation.
• Plan and coordinate structural design resources to meet programme milestones and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, municipalities and government departments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and deliver structural projects from inception to completion, either independently or within multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng degree in Civil Engineering and professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years post‑registration.
• Extensive experience in planning, designing and implementing structural and civil projects, especially commercial developments such as offices, retail, hotels and healthcare facilities.
• Experience with bridges and water‑retaining structures is an advantage.
