Senior Sales Consultant – Energy Solutions

About the role

Rubicon’s Sustainable Technology Division is expanding rapidly and seeks experienced Senior Sales Consultants to drive growth of its Energy portfolio. In this senior role you will work directly with customers to develop new business, qualify leads, and manage long‑term relationships while delivering strategic sales plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategy for energy solutions across commercial, industrial and residential markets.
• Identify and qualify prospects, build a robust pipeline and close high‑value opportunities.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with architects, engineers, consultants, property managers and contractors.
• Collaborate with technical, project execution and logistics teams to prepare specifications, present proposals and manage tender responses.
• Conduct site assessments, provide technical guidance and stay current with industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare quotes, proposals and financial models that demonstrate ROI and support customer decisions.
• Provide after‑sales support, monitor system performance and identify upsell opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records in CRM platforms such as HubSpot and NetSuite.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets set by the Sales Head.
• Mentor junior sales consultants to develop product and sales proficiency.

Required profile

• Matric/NQF4 equivalent; technical or business qualification is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of proven success in external sales within the energy or renewable‑energy sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles and consistently meet targets.
• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence with willingness to travel to client sites.
• Proactive, self‑managed, entrepreneurial mindset with significant autonomy.
