Senior React Native Engineer (Mobile)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to join a leading media technology company in South Africa. You will work on high‑traffic mobile applications used daily by millions of South Africans, collaborating closely with product, UX, and QA teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance a suite of mobile applications using React Native.
• Conduct peer code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Research best‑practice approaches and build proof‑of‑concept prototypes.
• Write unit tests, documentation, and contribute to effort estimates.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate user needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Software Engineering or related field (Master's preferred) from a recognised South African university.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years with React or React Native.
• Strong grasp of core programming paradigms and solution design.
• Ability to thrive in a small, fast‑paced environment with ownership and responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills across product, design, and QA stakeholders.
