Senior Procurement Specialist – Illovo/Sandton, Johannesburg

About the role

The Senior Procurement Specialist will lead strategic sourcing and tender governance for a fast‑growing organisation in Illovo/Sandton, Johannesburg. You will be responsible for driving procurement optimisation, managing high‑value tenders and ensuring compliance with governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans across industrial, engineering and construction categories.
• Manage end‑to‑end RFQ/RFP processes, commercial evaluations and high‑value tender negotiations.
• Facilitate tender adjudication and procurement committee meetings, ensuring policy compliance.
• Conduct vendor due‑diligence, onboarding and ongoing risk management.
• Utilise ERP procurement systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) to track spend, contracts and supplier performance.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 6‑8+ years of procurement experience in complex sourcing environments.
• Proven track record managing high‑value tenders and commercial negotiations.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, policy compliance and approval frameworks.
• Experience in industrial, engineering, construction, mining or related sectors.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across business functions.
