Senior Process Engineer

About the role

The Senior Process Engineer will lead engineering activities on energy, chemical, refining and petrochemical projects, acting as the primary interface with clients and ensuring delivery to expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with clients to capture requirements and deliver solutions.
• Lead engineering on multiple projects, including PFD/P&ID, HAZOP and SIL reviews.
• Perform 3D model and constructability reviews and manage manpower planning and project schedules.
• Develop design basis, process flow diagrams, mass & energy balances, and utility balances.
• Produce piping and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical flow diagrams, and utility flow diagrams.
• Create equipment data sheets, process philosophies, operating, safety and commissioning manuals.

Required profile

• BSc Chemical Engineering with at least 8 years of engineering experience in a contracting environment.
• Professional registration with ECSA preferred.
• Proven experience in feasibility, concept and basic engineering, especially on brownfield projects.
• Demonstrated ability to act as lead engineer during basic and detailed engineering phases.
• Experience with commissioning and plant start‑up is advantageous.

Required skills

• Process simulation tools such as Aspen or PROII.
• Heat‑exchanger rating using HTRI.
• Development of PFDs, P&IDs, HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Unit‑operation sizing and process safety system design.
• 3D modelling and constructability review.
