Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading EPCM consulting engineering firm, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary project delivery team serving the mining and heavy‑industrial sector. The role involves delivering robust mechanical solutions across complex projects, from design development to construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Define and support project scope, perform mechanical system analysis, hydraulic modelling, stress analysis, equipment sizing, and design of tanks, pressure vessels and bins.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs in line with standards, codes and client requirements; prepare specifications, datasheets, calculations and technical reports.
• Create and review 3D models and 2D drawings, support plant layout development, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and ensure designs are operable, maintainable and constructible.
• Deliver engineering activities within budget and schedule, contribute to cost estimates and proposal development, and support construction and commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership by reviewing work of junior engineers, designers and technicians, mentoring the team and preparing status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in heavy‑industrial or mining projects within EPCM/consulting environments.
• Proven track record in mechanical design, plant layout and 3D modelling.
• Experience with site construction and commissioning is advantageous.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng / Pr Tech) is a plus.
