Senior Manager - Sales and Distributions (Mobile Financial Services)

About the role

MTN SA is looking for a Senior Manager to define and lead Mobile Financial Services (MFS) sales strategies and drive growth, profitability and market share in line with the overall business strategy. The role sets, manages and delivers MFS through agent and customer acquisition and customer service, defines new and existing sales channels, and covers operational planning, market share growth, relationship management and budget management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, challenge and implement the long-term MFS sales and service strategy, and contribute to the business plan, long-term forecasts and corrective actions.
• Set acquisition, retention and profitability targets for MFS (Mobile Money in particular) and turn them into action plans; drive implementation plans and monitor the marketplace.
• Pursue growth in the merchant and agent networks, select and manage key merchants, negotiate with trade partners and benchmark competitors.
• Manage account plans, own key trade partner relationships and close deals, while ensuring the sales and distribution cycle runs smoothly.
• Build the MFS ecosystem through strategic partnerships, develop promotional plans and conduct regional road shows.
• Ensure sales and distribution teams are trained, manage channel conflicts, and oversee SLAs with customers and partners.
• Track Mobile Money performance by cost and revenue, manage costs against budget and KPIs, and forecast Mobile Money needs.
• Report results, budget compliance and feedback to the MFS business and stakeholders, and keep stakeholders informed of opportunities and risks.
