Senior Manager – Accounting & Complex Tax Solutions

About the role

Latita Africa is seeking a technically strong Senior Manager to lead complex accounting assignments, support tax dispute and debt‑resolution matters, and build a scalable accounting practice. This role focuses on high‑value, technically demanding engagements rather than routine compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Reconstruct incomplete accounting records, analyse ledgers, trial balances, bank statements and tax returns, and resolve difficult reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, cash‑flow forecasts, solvency assessments and financial models for complex group structures.
• Lead evidentiary analysis for SARS objections, appeals, audits and other tax disputes, building comprehensive matter files.
• Develop financial workstreams for section 200 tax debt‑compromise applications, including affordability models and settlement scenarios.
• Design and implement a scalable accounting service offering, including SOPs, pricing, resourcing and delivery models.
• Recruit, train and supervise accounting personnel, ensuring technical quality, deadlines and client communication.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification (CA(SA), AGA(SA), ACCA, etc.) with at least eight years of experience in complex accounting, tax or advisory work.
• Proven record of resolving technically difficult accounting or tax matters and experience with SARS audits or disputes.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting, tax administration and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple high‑stakes matters, meet firm deadlines and communicate findings clearly.
