Senior Logistics Coordinator – Transport & Contract Logistics

About the role

The Senior Logistics Coordinator will lead transport and contract logistics operations, ensuring seamless integration between warehouse and transport functions. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Matroosfontein, Cape Town, and requires a proactive, analytical professional who can drive performance against client KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage transporter service levels and coordinate inbound, outbound, and returns processes.
• Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS) to plan, execute, and track shipments.
• Develop and present clear reports and presentations using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and cross‑border transport regulations, export/import controls, and internal SOPs.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, implement contingency plans, and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor MRP and stock flow, supporting inventory accuracy and supply‑chain efficiency.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent; relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Transport Management is advantageous.
• 2‑5 years of experience in retail transport, supply‑chain environments, or customer service within warehouse and transport settings.
• Strong understanding of warehouse and transport operations, with a focus on KPI achievement.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, make decisive decisions, and manage stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data capture, manipulation and analysis.
• Competent use of Microsoft PowerPoint for professional reporting.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
