Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will independently deliver assigned audit engagements across the Grindrod Group, including its African entities. You will provide assurance and advisory support on governance, risk management, internal controls, compliance and operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on internal audit engagements in line with the approved audit plan and budget.
• Prepare audit reports, discuss findings with management and obtain comments.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders at all management levels.
• Review working papers to ensure tests support conclusions and resolve queries.
• Develop risk‑based audit programmes from risk registers.
• Ensure audit work complies with IIA Standards and internal audit policies.
• Conduct workshops, document processes, create control frameworks and manage self‑assessment activities.
• Perform risk‑based audits, ad‑hoc reviews and compliance testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end internal audit engagements.
• Ability to work autonomously and build partnerships with senior management.
• Willingness to travel to African jurisdictions such as Mozambique, Zambia, Namibia and Ghana.
• Familiarity with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards).
