Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Forvis Mazars Advisory is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its fast‑growing internal audit team. The role involves leading risk‑based audits, providing consulting services, and mentoring junior staff while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audits across client engagements.
• Develop detailed audit programmes, test controls, and compile comprehensive working papers.
• Identify business risks, control weaknesses, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Draft audit reports, present findings to clients, and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Supervise internal audit teams on multiple assignments and ensure delivery aligns with scope.
• Collaborate with clients to define project outcomes, manage expectations, and maintain productive relationships.
• Research client industries, structures, and key stakeholders to inform audit approach.
• Mentor junior auditors, review their work, and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of consulting experience in governance, risk, and compliance, including 2 years in a senior audit role.
• Professional credentials such as CIA (advantageous) and membership with IIA.
• Thorough knowledge of IIA standards, COSO framework, and internal audit methodologies.
• Strong project‑management and multi‑tasking abilities.
