Senior Human Resource Officer (IR Specialist)

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Senior Human Resource Officer (IR Specialist) to join their Human Resources team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive HR and Industrial Relations support, ensuring effective employee relations practices and compliance with applicable labour legislation and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional HR generalist and Industrial Relations support to employees and management.
• Manage and advise on disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and other employee relations matters.
• Guide management on interpretation and application of labour legislation and HR policies.
• Assist with preparation and management of disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Represent and support the organisation in Labour Relations and CCMA-related matters.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee and IR records.
• Support HR policies, procedures and employee relations initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with relevant labour legislation and organisational policies.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR position.
• Minimum 3 years’ Labour Relations/Industrial Relations experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations practices.
• Experience handling disciplinary and grievance procedures.
