Senior Group Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Group Finance Officer to support the CFO of a leading FMCG manufacturing group. The role will oversee group financial reporting, consolidations and governance across multiple business units, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual group financial statements.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting systems and governance processes.
• Review divisional submissions for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate year‑end external audit and manage audit requirements.
• Implement and improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Support cash‑flow forecasting, working‑capital management and cost‑optimisation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation and statutory reporting.
• Produce financial analysis, business cases, investment evaluations and strategic reports for senior management.
• Analyse budgets, forecasts, variances, margins and pricing trends.
• Collaborate with IT to optimise ERP and financial systems.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, promoting best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• At least 8 years of finance experience, including 3 years in group finance, consolidations or senior accounting.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
• Proven experience with ERP financial systems.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS, financial governance and tax compliance.
