Senior Finance Manager

About the role

Liberty, part of the Standard Bank Group, is looking for a Senior Finance Manager in Johannesburg on a contractor basis. The role gives you full accountability for the financial health and strategic direction of your business units, turning high-level financial goals into actionable plans and overseeing the full range of financial management services.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the finance strategy into practical plans for the supported business areas
• Oversee financial management services, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and cost control
• Lead and motivate the financial management team, fostering a high-performance culture and professional development
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and prepare reports, statements and projections for senior management
• Improve processes using knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and financial regulations
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including banking partners
• Advise business leaders on the financial implications of decisions and initiatives

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Accounting; Honours degree or CA(SA) designation highly preferred
• 8 to 15 years of post-articles or post-honours experience in financial or management accounting
• Proven leadership experience and stakeholder management skills
• Prior banking experience is beneficial

Required skills

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills
• Familiarity with automated financial and accounting reporting systems and financial regulations
• MS Excel and MS Word
