Senior Engineering Draughtsman – Electrical Development & Assets

About the role

The municipality is seeking a Senior Engineering Draughtsman to support electrical development, contract management and asset administration. The role involves creating detailed electrical network reticulation plans, maintaining drawing archives and ensuring accurate fixed‑asset records for municipal projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce electrical network reticulation plans, architectural designs, engineering drawings and electricity layouts and schematics.
• Provide reticulation data to support project planning and execution.
• Obtain information on various ongoing projects to keep drawings up to date.
• Maintain the drawing office archives system, ensuring all documents are properly stored and accessible.
• Maintain an accurate and reliable record of fixed assets related to electrical infrastructure.
• Carry out site inspections to verify that as‑built conditions match design specifications.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification and N6 technical drawing certification.
• Completion of an AllyCAD end‑user course.
• Eligibility for registration with the SA Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) or membership in a recognized draughting society or the South African Institute of Draughting.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.
• Minimum of four (4) years’ draughting experience in an engineering environment.
