Senior Engineer - Highways

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead highway design and delivery projects. The role combines technical expertise with project coordination, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate small to mid‑size multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop and review highway designs using engineering data and industry‑standard software.
• Perform BIM spatial reviews, virtual walkthroughs, and clash detection.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and effort‑based man‑hour calculations.
• Conduct technical quality reviews of calculations, BIM models, and drawings.
• Interact with authorities for approvals and support client meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Experienced civil or highway engineer with a proven track record on infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting budget and schedule targets.
• Strong analytical skills for data gathering, correlation, and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary reviews.

Required skills

• BIM (building information modeling) for spatial reviews and clash detection.
• Construction cost estimating and budgeting.
• Design calculations and technical specification development.
