Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building services projects across commercial, residential, retail and industrial sectors. You will work in a dynamic consulting environment, turning concepts into fully documented, constructible solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of MV/LV reticulation, lighting, small power, standby power and distribution systems.
• Prepare calculations, technical documentation and detailed drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure compliance with SANS standards, industry regulations and client specifications.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and support successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical building services consulting.
• BEng or BSc in Engineering; ECSA registration (PrEng) or eligibility preferred.
• South African residency or valid work permit.

Required skills

• Design of MV/LV electrical systems.
• Lighting and small‑power installation design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of SANS standards and industry regulations.
