Senior DevOps Engineer – Multi‑Cloud Production Owner

About the role

Our client is looking for a senior‑level DevOps Engineer who can own a complex, multi‑cloud production environment. The role blends deep AWS infrastructure expertise with hands‑on backend development to ensure high‑availability, performance and cost‑efficiency for web, mobile and AI/ML workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain highly available, scalable platforms across multiple AWS regions.
• Implement and evolve Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform and manage remote state with S3.
• Develop, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Spinnaker/ArgoCD/Harness) and automate deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex production incidents spanning infrastructure, applications, databases and networking.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation, lead root‑cause analysis and drive post‑mortem improvements.
• Collaborate with development teams to support and optimise backend services and write production‑grade code.
• Manage security, secrets, monitoring and cost‑optimisation across the stack.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience in large‑scale, high‑availability production environments.
• Proven track record of owning end‑to‑end AWS infrastructures.
• Strong backend development background and ability to read, debug and modify production code.
• Experience with 24/7 on‑call rotations and incident management.

• AWS services: EC2, Auto Scaling, Spot Instances, RDS/Aurora MySQL, ElastiCache, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFront, ALB/NLB, Route 53, Security Groups, SNS, EventBridge, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, WAF, CloudWatch.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (modules, remote state), Ansible (playbooks, roles).
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Spinnaker, ArgoCD, Harness; blue/green and red/black deployments.
• Automation and scripting for deployment, monitoring and cost optimisation.
