Senior Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer (Field)

About the role

Amazon Web Services’ Infrastructure Services team designs, builds and operates the global cloud backbone. As a Senior Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer you will support AWS data centers throughout their lifecycle, from concept design to ongoing maintenance, while working both on‑site and in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑life‑cycle engineering support for data center design, upgrades, commissioning and maintenance.
• Serve as the regional go‑to technical resource, troubleshooting failures, conducting root‑cause analysis and producing corrective‑action documentation.
• Lead engineering audits, on‑site visits and risk‑report generation with recommended mitigations.
• Own conceptual designs that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency and support sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with operations, construction, design, commissioning and product teams to enforce standards and ensure reliable service delivery.

Required skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• NETA or ASHRAE certification (or equivalent commissioning education).
• Knowledge of critical data‑center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with building codes, commercial/industrial power and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and web‑based calculation/data‑processing tools.
